Email Archiving

Problem:

Email has become a vital communication tool for most organizations. As such, it has become imperative, and in some industries legally required, that email be archived for extended periods of time. Collecting and storing all inbound and outbound email correspondence can be an onerous task for even a relatively small organization without the right systems in place. This is especially complicated when people work in multiple locations, using multiple computers.

Solution:

Microsoft's Exchange Server has the ability to capture all inbound and outbound email and route it to a central account for archiving. Accumulated email can be periodically offloaded to DVD or tape for long-term retention.

Benefits:

Using Microsoft Exchange to archive email can substantially cut the cost of gathering and storing all email received and sent by an organization. For those industries where law requires that email be archived (financial services, for example), archiving systems can eliminate heavy non-compliance fines and penalties.

Microsoft Exchange offers other ancillary benefits such as group event scheduling, company-wide address books, and email / address book / calendar availability from anywhere (especially useful for travelers and people that work at home).
